Baby IPA

The third beer for the bachelor party is this baby IPA. I wanted a low gravity IPA that has a slight maltiness and that is very hop forward. I used my favorite malt in this beer, Maris Otter. Maris Otter in IPAs provide the perfect amount of maltiness. The maris otter has this great toasted breadiness, cracker flavor that I love in IPAs. I like my IPAs dry with the malt in the background. The BJCP says there must be a balanced between the malt and hops. I love dry IPAs like Sculpin and make my IPAs similar to this. I get dinged on score sheets for my IPAs being to hop forward and not enough malt flavor. Enough with the rant......

The goals for this beer was to make it hop forward and low gravity. It is a hoppy pale ale, if you want to be critical. However, I'm shooting for a 4.5% ABV beer, which is the low end for the style. I used my favorite malt and my favorite hops for this beer.
